Announcements for Round 8: The Filth Fest Challenge is back by popular demand! Let's kick this round off with a bunch of panty-scorching prompts for people to come back to if they're ever in need of... inspiration. If you weren't there for the last Filth Fest, it's pretty simple: the first 50 prompts (at least) must be filthy and/or kinky as fuck. Keep your gen and your G-rated prompts in reserve until page 3--which if the last round is any indication will arrive quickly enough--and work on earning yourselves a dedicated first-class carriage to the special hell.

Fine print: In the original announcement. Basically, prompts on the first 2 pages that aren't on-topic for the challenge will be quietly screened or deleted and can be reposted later. There is no minimum subjective hotness requirement, just keep things sex- and/or kink-focused for those first 50 prompts.

News #1: The spam filter is off for now! This means you'll occasionally see spam on the meme (which will disappear by magic as the mod fairies do their work), but it also means LiveJournal should stop eating comments with links in them.

News #2: The first two pages of Round 7--in other words, the first 50 prompts--will be devoted to a Filth Fest Challenge. For those first 50 prompts, you're going to have to break out your hottest, dirtiest, kinkiest ideas, so that we kick off the round with a nice solid bank of prompts to spark the prurient imaginations of potential fillers. Make someone gurgle incoherently. Set someone's pants on fire with the need to write porn. Make Victor Hugo turn over ever faster in his grave--or even better, make Victor Hugo get an awkward boner somewhere in the afterlife.

Got a G-rated prompt that's burning a hole in your head when Round 7 kicks off? Save it for page 3... but if it's any consolation, Round 6 broke 50 prompts less than three days after it went up, and I have full faith in this fandom's ability to turn out filth pretty quickly when challenged.

The previous round's moratorium on E/R woobification/vilification prompts is no longer in effect, but back-and-forth grudge-prompting will still get frozen if it starts to escalate.

Note on spam filtering: At the moment, LiveJournal is marking all comments with links in them as spam and they are being sent to quarantine. If your comment is caught by the spam filter, a mod will unscreen it within 24 hours, but it won't show up in email notifications to meme subscribers. For this reason, anyone linking to a fill on AO3 is encouraged to post other identifying info (title, author if applicable, and story ID--the number portion of the URL) instead of a full link for the time being. Same goes for Tumblr and YouTube links if you want to avoid the spam filter: username, title if applicable, video/post ID. If linking to another site, you might be able to evade the spam filter by writing out the domain name and separating it from the rest of the URL, but no guarantees.

What the chatter post is NOT:
- Les Mis fandom's version of an anon hate/gossip meme
- A venue to vent your spleen at people who are Wrong On The Internet
- No, seriously, I don't care how stupid someone's opinions are, there are a billion places on the internet where you can give free rein to your scorn and hostility. This isn't one of them.
- A place to whine about anyone else's kink meme etiquette. You want someone to police etiquette, talk to a mod, we can put in a gentle word with people who truly don't realize how obnoxious they're being.

What the chatter post IS:
- A place to discuss Les Mis, resources and writing questions, possible additions or improvements to the meme, how awful your day was and why you imperatively need to be plied with espresso and a puppy and a good H/C fic rec, etc.

Wow, that escalated quickly! Round two is staggering under its own weight, so ON TO ROUND THREE! Fills can still be posted on previous rounds, but new prompts go in the post for the current round.

No kink-shaming, this is not the platform to air your grievances with people who are Wrong On The Internet, multiple fills and fills on old prompts are gleefully encouraged, non-sexual kinks are OK, RPS is not allowed because of Reasons, and responding to prompts (not fills!) with nothing more substantive than '+1'/'seconded'/'omg somebody fill this'/'need this like air' is very much frowned upon. Look at it this way, guys: not only does it make it easier to mod a high-traffic meme, the more you refrain from posting '+1's, the longer it'll take LJ to start going wonky on this post.

WOW WE HIT THE SOFT LIMIT ON LJ COMMENTS. CAPTCHAs for everybody! Or, you know, a new post. Feel free to keep posting fills and comments in existing threads on the last post, but NEW THREADS GO HERE.

Here's how it works:

Leave an anonymous comment with a kink request. Reply anonymously with fic or art fulfilling other people's kink requests. It is as simple as that.

Fiddly details:
- Feel free to make more than one request! And of course, multiple responses to the same request are allowed and encouraged.
- No stomping on other people's kinks. If you think it's gross or un-hot, you don't have to write fic for it.
- Anonymous posting is encouraged, but if you want to claim ownership of your fic, go right ahead! Don't try to guess who other people are, though, it takes some of the fun and freedom out of an anon kinkmeme.

- No '+1'/'seconded'/'need this like air' comments on prompts. While these do serve a purpose, they also make the meme cluttered and difficult to mod when things get busy. - No RPS. This is mostly for logistical reasons: the distance between fans and actors has traditionally been very small in the stage fandom, there's a lot of actor crossover between the film and the stage, and not everyone involved in the show is enough of a celebrity that they can be said to have a public persona (or that they've taken their name off Google Alerts). There is just no good place to draw that line.
- The kink meme is a place of sparkles and joy and rainbows and unicorn farts, and as such it is not the place to pick fights over... well, anything, really, but other people's tastes and/or interpretation of canon especially. There are plenty of places to tell people they're Wrong On The Internet. Your ruefully neglectful maintainer just dealt with some bothersome emotional vampires, and could use a bit of cheering up. Since the administration hasn't done much for you lately, the demand is pretty simple:

Porny Les Mis drabbles. I don't care who's doing it, what "it" is, or how badly it's written, as long as it's short and pleasantly obscene.

To start off:

Clarification on the Cracksmut Challenge: Crossovers and pairings between Miz characters and historical figures are allowed and encouraged. Pairings between Miz characters and crossover characters or historical figures who were actually alive in 1830 are doubly encouraged. Hopefully this will expand your options a bit.

(Should anyone desire an easy opening for a fic, in Good Omens Crowley slept through most of the 19th century, but woke up once in 1832 to use the lavatory. I'm not kidding, check the book.)

To restore this ailing community to life, your fair moderators have decided to issue a Cracksmut Challenge.

The Terms
- Responses must feature explicit sexual content as per the rules of the comm.
- Responses must feature a bizarre, cracked-out pairing.
- Some setup for how the crackpairing came about would be nice, but exceptions will be made for extreme pretty.

What Is A Crackpairing?
- Strange, non-canon, unlikely, and/or unpopular pairings
- Any pairing that is canon or pseudo-canon, even unrequited, is off-limits. That means no Marius/Cosette, Marius/Eponine, Grantaire/Enjolras, Joly/Bossuet/Musichetta, etc.
- Extremely common fanon pairings are off-limits. That means no Javert/Valjean, Amis/other Amis, etc.
- Up for grabs are Fantine/practically anyone, Javert/practically anyone but Valjean, Eponine/practically anyone but Marius and Montparnasse, Enjolras/practically anyone who isn't an Ami, Amis/non-Amis, etc. Be creative.
- As the mods' general dislike of Enjolras/Eponine stems mostly from its unlikeliness, it qualifies as a crackpairing. However, we reserve the right to point and laugh if you don't toss in at least some cursory justification.

The challenge runs until July 1; I'll match you guys tit-for-tat and write one fic for every submission posted on or before Barricade Day.
